Job Vacancy: Mailroom Messenger at British High Commission Nairobi

Main Purpose of Job:

The Messenger/Driver will provide support across the mission by handling incoming and outgoing Diplomatic bags. The officer will closely work with the Transport Team to ensure the efficient running of the mailroom, including accurate data and reports for the mailroom and fuel handling.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Sort, collate, and distribute/dispatch all incoming/outgoing mails and diplomatic bags.

- Log and record all mail transactions on appropriate spreadsheets.

- Keep track of mails received and sent out by the organization.

- Organize the mailroom by properly arranging incoming mail and packages.

- Receive BHC mail and send mail to other organizations, including deliveries by BHC drivers.

- Cover for other roles within the Transport section when required, including Receptionist duties.

- Carry out document scanning, photocopying, binding services, and printing of business cards.

- Assist in filing documents as requested.

- Prepare relevant mailroom reports on a monthly basis.

- Carry out messenger duties on a self-drive basis.

- Assist in fueling official vehicles and prepare fuel-related reports.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Transport Manager and his deputy.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

- Diploma in a related field.

- Computer knowledge.

- Good planning and reporting skills.

- Driving experience with a clean driving license – Class B, C & D.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

- Experience working in a mailroom/messenger.

- Good knowledge of front office desk operations, practices, and procedures.
