BasiGo - Fleet Operations Coordinator

BasiGo, an early-stage e-mobility start-up revolutionizing public transportation, seeks a Fleet Operations Coordinator to manage operations for BasiGo’s electric buses. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing electric vehicle company in Kenya.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

- Develop relationships with SACCO personnel handling E-Buses

- Coordinate service schedules for E-Buses, communicating with the service team

- Engage and communicate effectively with E-Bus drivers and conductors

- Manage and coordinate roadside rescue operations or accident scenes

- Oversee charging, daily checks, bus cleaning, receiving, and dispatch operations

- Monitor E-Bus platforms and coordinate with various heads for timely execution

- Coordinate bus repositioning between different charging stations

- Ensure availability of service van/truck for operations

- Document all operation actions/processes

- Monitor operations flow and propose improvement plans

- Liaise with insurance on accident information and claims processing

- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2-3 years of experience (preferably in transport, logistics, engineering, economics, management, business administration)

- Proven working experience in bus service operations is an advantage

- Ability to collate data and make presentations

- Strong technical capabilities and ability to learn new technologies

- Organizational and planning skills

- Good interpersonal and communication skills (English and Kiswahili)

- Proactive problem-solving skills

- Flexibility to work shifts (evenings/nights or weekends)

- Enterprising, self-starter adaptable to startup dynamics

- Humility/Flexibility in a fast-paced environment

- Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently

- Good driving record demonstrating the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely
