The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is dedicated to providing opportunities for young individuals to acquire, refine their knowledge, and gain practical skills that complement their studies. The KEMRI Internship Program (KIP) aims to cultivate a pool of young talent with substantial exposure to the research industry. By the end of the internship, candidates will have gained valuable workplace experience that enhances their employability in line with Kenya Vision 2030.

The DGHP Branch at KEMRI/CGHR offers an internship opportunity within the Burden of Respiratory Disease among the Elderly Study.

Position: Intern (1 position)

Location: Kisumu County

Essential Requirements:

- Diploma in Accountancy, Business Administration, or Business Management

- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Kiswahili

- Graduated and obtained the relevant final certificate

- Kenyan youth below 30 years of age

- Certificate of good conduct

- Strong analytical skills

- Computer literate

Terms of Engagement:

Appointment in the internship program will be for a period of one (1) year, non-renewable, and is subject to the availability of funds.

Please Note:

1. A modest stipend of Ksh. 15,000 will be provided, which may not be sufficient. Successful candidates will need to cover their own transport, accommodation, and upkeep during this period.

2. Successful candidates are expected to have a personal accident cover and medical insurance lasting through the internship period.

3. KEMRI/The program WILL NOT offer employment after the completion of the internship.
