Job Purpose:

As a Procurement Officer at Lato Milk, you will play a crucial role in handling the procurement process. Your responsibilities include securing high-quality and cost-efficient supplies for our business, ensuring adherence to procurement procedures, maintaining stock records, and overseeing purchase approvals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure strict adherence to procurement procedures and standards, creating awareness among users about the prescribed processes.

- Guarantee the availability of quality goods and services through timely processing of requisitions and prompt delivery to users.

- Efficiently manage the supply base using open tendering and pre-qualification processes for all goods and services.

- Conduct price surveys to determine trends, aiding in supplier appraisal for cost rationalization.

- Foster and manage positive supplier relationships through effective communication and timely payment processing.

- Produce management reports to facilitate informed decision-making.

- Provide advice to management on internal controls for procurement process enhancement.

- Maintain comprehensive purchase records and other essential data.

- Negotiate pricing and supply contracts for optimal terms.

- Develop plans for purchasing services and supplies.

- Ensure products and supplies meet quality standards.

- Maintain an updated list of suppliers.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, Commerce from a recognized institution.

- Professional Diploma from Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies (CIPS) or Certified Procurement and Supplies Profession of Kenya (CPSP-K).

- Supply chain practitioner license from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) is mandatory.

- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management.

- Membership of KISM or CIPS.

- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement/contract principles and contract administration.

- Working knowledge of E-procurement systems is an added advantage.
